I only got to spend one night in Okinoshima. The receptionist was so kind to me. She drove me to the grocery store to get something to eat. I took a run along the bay and got to see the beautiful scenery around the water. The bathhouse was very clean and the water was really warm! The Japanese tatami style room was simple, but picturesque with the rest of the island in the background. Amazing customer service. Beautiful place to stay!

Although the hardwares such as rooms are little bit aged, the service is very good. The price is also very reasonable (Around 75USD including Dinner&Breakfast). If you care the location and the noises, you should consider other hotels. It's 14 mins walk from Saigo Port. And the noise from the corridor can be easily heard and when there are kids running and talking loud, it could be bothersome. I feel that this hotel receives groups more than individuals hence the noise gets even bigger as they talk in the corridor and keep visiting other rooms. Good points about this hotel
are:

2. Rent a car 1,000¥ per hour
* max charge 5,000¥ per day
3. Public Bath, clean and cozy
* no shower/bath in the room

The staffs were hospitable enough to drive me to the city centre and to prepare a map that indicated the nearest convenience store from the hotel.
You can take a bath with a public bathtub, and see a nice landscape of the bay.
It's a Japanese style hotel suitable for families with children, but you can also stay alone.
