Ao is a guesthouse established in the Kumi district of Okinoshima town, following the renovation of this traditional house which is over 100 years old.
We wish for our guests to experience the relaxed pace of island life within this historic dwelling, and therefore no clocks are provided.
Please savour Oki’s island time at your own pace.

The shower room features traditional tiled decor.
※ The bathtub is not available for use.
Should the shower become busy, we may implement a timetable system.
※ Located a 10-minute drive away is Okinoshima Town's only hot spring, 'GOKA Onsen'.

Facility Information
There is no specific curfew, but keys will be provided for guests leaving after 22:00.
Lights out is at 22:30. Please keep quiet in your rooms thereafter.
A kitchen for self-catering is available. (Deep-frying is not permitted. If preparing caught fish, please note cleaning charges may apply for any mess caused.)

Cancellation fees apply as follows (※ No fee if ferry or flight cancellations occur).
・7-2 days prior: 50%
・1 day prior or on the day: 100%

Three vehicles can be parked in front of the lodge, with space for approximately four more in the second car park.

Great vibe and experience there with friendly, outgoing, and helpful owner and staff. Space was clean, spacious, and felt like being a guest in somebody’s home rather than in a more formal hotel. Gave useful recommendations about how to get around and was generous with his time and resources. Will definitely come back again to stay and try the upcoming coffee shop and bar. Highly recommend!

Great experience. Loved the remoteness of the location. Very quiet at night. The host and their staff are exceptionally friendly. Well run hostel. I stayed in the dormitory for two nights. All guests respected the quiet hours. Hope to be back one day.

Loved our stay. We stayed for 3 nights in the private room, which was spacious and comfortable. There is also a group room with 6 beds. The common area is kept super clean and inviting and it's a lovely place to talk to fellow travellers. I don't speak Japanese, unfortunately, but with Google translator and good will there was no issues. Couldn't recommend it more.

We stayed two nights at the guesthouse. It is very clean (almost brand new) and has everything you need. There are even a lot of mangas you can read!

The host is very kind; he prepared two wonderful dinners and two amazing breakfasts for us. He even went fishing for us! We had a great time talking with him and enjoying some umeshu after dinner.

I highly recommend this guesthouse.

Very pleasant guesthouse ! The japanese-style house is well renovated, well furnished and very clean.The tenant was incredibly kind and available ! Dinner was wonderful, with fresh sea food and fish. I would definitly recommend :)
