Reviews of B&B Atodo

I've been to the Oki Islands about five times, and when I decided to visit Nakanoshima (Ama Town), the only unexplored of the four inhabited islands, I decided to book this lodging. The price was reasonable and it was a new one, which was a plus.

However, check-in here is unique in that it takes place at the tourist information center at Hishiura Port, and I think first-time guests should be aware of this. You fill out your guest book and pay at the tourist information center, but the staff seemed a bit inefficient. It would have saved time if they had filled out the guest book in the extra space at the counter while they were helping the previous guest.

You are given a key at check-in, and even to enter the building's entrance, you touch a key that appears to have a chip embedded in it, which I thought was excellent in terms of security. It would have been even better if sandals had been provided at the entrance for going out.

The room was modern and had a large desk that was suitable for business purposes, making it very convenient. The shower-only bathroom was fine, although I initially thought the shower coming from the ceiling was a leak. Perhaps they should announce somewhere that the shower also comes from the ceiling.

Wi-Fi is also provided with an access point in each room, and the connection speed is very satisfactory.

You can specify a breakfast time starting from 7am when you check in, which isn't a big deal if you don't usually eat breakfast like me, but those who want a hearty meal may find the portion a little small. The local Ama Town ingredients were delicious.

I would definitely stay here again if I visit Ama Town again someday.
